Monitoring Blocked Email
What is End User Quarantine (EUQ)? This feature gives users of the Gordon College email system the ability to manage emails that were blocked as spam. You can choose to release the message to your mailbox, delete it, and/or request that the sender's emails never be blocked again when sent to you.
EUQ is an "OPT-OUT" service. This means everyone has this feature, but if at any point you no longer wish to receive EUQ emails, you can request this through the CET.
Here's how EUQ works:
Periodic Notifications
Periodically you will receive an email from "User Quarantine Release". Each email contains a summary of instructions for you to take.
See an example of this email.
The email consists of two main action parts:
1. A link that brings you to a page listing all of your blocked email (up to fourteen days ago), with available actions to perform (see below: "Releasing, Deleting, and Marking as Trusted-Sender").
2. A list of each new message blocked since the last email with a link next to each one, which if clicked, will release that message right to your email.
Additional notes about these notifications:
Web Page: Releasing, Deleting, and Marking as Trusted-Sender
By clicking the long URL link found in your EUQ email you be taken to a web page listing your messages. This URL is often unique to the particular EUQ e-mail, so bookmarking it will not help.
See example of the web page you will see.
Additional notes about this web page:
Selecting a message to mark the sender as "trusted" allows the senders' emails to never be blocked when sent to you in the future. All requests for e-mail addresses to be marked as trusted sender will be reviewed and applied within 2 business days. The requests do not take effect automatically. While generally accepted, trusted-sender requests for inappropriate or random one-time email addresses will not be accepted. If you find the same company's emails always getting blocked, please contact the CET to find a more permanent solution. Trusted sender entries stay valid for up to 90 days after they are accepted. If a message is not sent from that specific sender's address to your e-mail address, the entry is removed.
Note: Many times the sender's address of newsletters is auto-generated and never the same. Trying to mark these addresses as "trusted" will not work. Please contact the CET to find a more permanent solution if you think this is the case.
How to unsubscribe from EUQ:
If you do not wish to receive EUQ notices you may request to be removed by contacting the CET.
