Earth Week is a cooperative initiative headed by Advocates for a Sustainable Future to celebrate God's Creation and explore ways in which to better steward the earth. The week features numerous events throughout the week including, but not limited to speakers, educational films, debate and more.

ASF Film Series: Your Environmental Road Trip
7 p.m.
Ken Olsen Science Center Classroom 109
Your Environmental Road Trip (YERT) which is an exciting new documentary about three friends who cross the country seeking out the novel, inventive ways in which Americans are addressing climate and energy needs. Sustainable Speaker Series
CHIVE: Cultivating a Sustainable Business in Community
6–7:30 p.m.
Jenks Library Classroom 406
ASF hosts CHIVE, a local sustainable event planning and catering company out of Beverly, to share their commitment to the feasibility of running a sustainable business. CHIVE will share their vision and encourage students and the local community to think more broadly about how our lives and business practices can be oriented toward values of sustainability.
THURSDAY, APRIL 19
Negotiating the Sustainable Ideal with panelists Bryan Parys, Christen Yates, and Erika Gorgenyi
1:30–2:30 p.m.
Ken Olsen Science Center Classroom 127
Affirming Sustainable Living does not always address how best to work out these ideals. ASF will hear from several Gordon community members on their personal journeys of sustainable living. The conversation will address how to think creatively as we interpret sustainable values and frankly discuss compromises and sacrifices associated with sustainability.
