PROJECT FOR THE CHURCH AND THE PUBLIC
The Center for Christian Studies (CCS) initiated the Project for the Church and Public in 2003, a component of a college-wide program entitled Critical Loyalty: Christian Vocation at Gordon College. The program is funded by a $2 million grant from the Lilly Endowment. The project focuses on creating avenues for disseminating the results of scholarship by our faculty to churches and the broader public.
FELLOWS PROGRAM
To facilitate dissemination to churches, the CCS initiated the CCS Fellows Program. The program calls for the annual selection of 2-3 Gordon faculty for two-year appointments as CCS Fellows. The fellows receive funding for research projects and release time from teaching so that they may concentrate their efforts on translating the results of their scholarly work for accessibility to the thinking Christian layperson.
