Contemporary Music Center

VISION

The Best Semester's interdisciplinary Contemporary Music Center in Nashville, provides a community where young musicians and aspiring music executives can learn the ins and outs of a career in popular music. Designed as an artistic community, the program develops artists and music executives with a Christ-centered vision for music content, production, and delivery. The mission of the CMC is to prepare students academically and creatively for potential careers in the music industry. Finish the semester with:

  • Original recordings
  • Press kit and resume
  • The knowledge of how to get a recording contract or a job in the music industry
     

QUALIFICATIONS

CMC is an interdisciplinary program and encourages students of various majors with interests in music and the music business to apply. To be eligible students must:

  • Be a juniors and seniors
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.75
  • Demonstrate an ability to succeed in the business or creative dimension of the music industry

 

CREDITS

You will take three core courses with all participants of the program and then choose an artist track or executive track, depending on your interests. Both tracks allow for a full 16 credit semester.

 APPLICATION PROCEDURE & DEADLINES

All Gordon students applying to a BEST SEMESTER program must first submit an online seat application and have an interview with a staff member in the Global Education Office.

FALL SEMESTER: 
Seat applications and interviews for fall semester programs must be submitted online by March 15.You will be notified within 5 days of the decision on your seat application.

After you've been approved by the Global Education Office proceed with the BEST SEMESTER's application. The Fall Best Semester Deadline is: April 1

SPRING SEMESTER:
Seat applications and interviews for fall semester programs must be submitted online by September 15. (N.B. This date is earlier than the normal Spring deadline!) You will be notified within 5 days of the decision on your seat application.

After you've been approved by the Global Education Office proceed with the BEST SEMESTER's application. The Spring Best Semester Deadline is: October 1

If you wish to apply early admission, then the deadlines are:
