Hark, the Herald Community Sings: Celebrating the Spirit of Christmas

WENHAM, MA-They may not be herald angels, but on Saturday, December 6, many friends and families of Gordon College will be singing of the babe in the manger. In the A. J. Gordon Memorial Chapel at 4 p.m., Gordon will offer the second annual Community Carol Sing by welcoming all of its North Shore neighbors. Part of this year's "Christmas at Gordon" weeklong celebration, the event is family-friendly and free of charge.  

"We couldn't be more excited with last year's turnout and participation," says Keith Gruen, undergraduate music coordinator. "The hour is a great time for families and friends to come together and sing some of their favorite Christmas carols."

Intermingled with the caroling, Jan Carlberg, author and wife of R. Judson Carlberg, Gordon College president, will tell classic Christmas tales. Thomas Brooks, Music Department chair, and Sandra Doneski, professor of music, will lead the hour with favorite Christmas carols and songs. The Gordon Children's Choir will also perform, and the audience will be invited after the event for light, warm refreshments around the campus Christmas tree outside the chapel.  

The event is free and open to the public. All are welcome. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
