WENHAM, MA-Most Christians readily accept the Jesus who demonstrated His identity as God incarnate through miracles and supernatural acts. In his latest book, Flesh-and-Blood Jesus: Learning to Be Fully Human from the Son of Man, Dr. Dan Russ, a Danvers resident and director of the Center for Christian Studies at Gordon College, aims the spotlight away from the miracles and concentrates on the Christ that was fully human.

"We can so focus on the realities of our Lord's divinity that we minimize or ignore the realities of His humanity," said Russ.

A panel discussion in the Gordon College Bookstore on Tuesday, Nov. 11, will address topics covered in Flesh-and-Blood Jesus, including loneliness, failure, and anger. The panel will include Russ, Lothlórien Distinguished Chair of Fine Arts Bruce Herman, and Senior Communications Writer Jo Kadlecek. Following the discussion Russ will sign copies of his book.

"Russ so wonderfully deals with topics of humanity and we think there can be some great conversations centered around the content of Flesh-and-Blood Jesus," said Debbie Drost, program manager for the Center for Christian Studies. "We hope the 'coffee-house' type atmosphere in the bookstore will lend itself to lively conversation."

The discussion and book signing will take place Tuesday, November 11, from 6-7 p.m., in the Gordon College Bookstore in Lane Student Center. This event is free and open to the public.
