WENHAM, MA - The Gordon College men's soccer homecoming match scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2007, has been altered due to a player personnel shortage on the part of scheduled opponent Salve Regina University. The Fighting Scots will, however, host an Alumni Match at 2:30 p.m. on The Quad on the campus of Gordon College.
Any Alumni who would like to participate in the contest should contact Joe Hakes via email at [email protected].
The Fighting Scots, currently 5-5-1 overall and 4-1-1 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) will not earn a win, nor will Salve Regina be saddled with a loss, due to the forfeit; the NCAA rules that if a contest is forfeited prior to being played it is a "no contest".
GC will play its next home match on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 against Colby-Sawyer College on The Quad at 3:30 p.m. and will battle North Shore rival Endicott College in Beverly on Tuesday October 9, 2007.
