Gordon Earns Several Awards at 2007 Communicator Awards Print Competition

WENHAM, MA-Gordon College received five awards at the 13th Annual Communicator Awards Print Competition, the leading international awards program recognizing creative excellence in the communication field. Competing amongst top-notch international advertising agencies and Fortune 500 companies, Gordon received the "Award of Excellence" for both Stillpoint and the new College logo and sub-logo design series. The College also earned two "Awards of Distinction" for the Gordon Admissions Viewbook. The primary Gordon logo also received an additional "Honorable Mention."

The "Award of Excellence" is given to those entries whose ability to communicate puts them among the best in the field and the "Award of Distinction" is presented for projects that exceed industry standards in quality and excellence. Entries are judged against a high standard of excellence based on the Communicator Awards' 13-year history of judging work. Gordon received awards for the quality, creativity and resourcefulness of their work.

The new Gordon logo series was designed by Tim Ferguson-Sauder, Art Director in the College Design Center and Program Director of Return Design. The logo series featured branding for the following Gordon departments: Fighting Scots, La Vida, Restore Creation Project, Media Lab, Gordon-in-Belize, Boston, France, Lynn, Orvieto and Oxford. Stillpoint, the college magazine, is published three times a year and has a circulation of more than 26,000 readers. The magazine is edited by Patricia C. Hanlon, Director of Publications for the College and is designed by Kirsten Keister, Graphic Designer in the College Design Center. The Admission Viewbook was created by marketing communications firm Richard Harrison Bailey with art direction from Tim Ferguson-Sauder.

The Communicator Awards provides communications and creative professionals proof and validation that their work is outstanding and highly regarded by their peers. Founded by communication professionals over a decade ago, the Communicator Awards holds annual competitions with entries and winners coming from all 50 states and numerous foreign countries.

The categories for the competition are: Advertising, Annual Report, Brochure, Corporate Identity, Employee Publication, Magazine, Marketing/Promotion, Media Kit, Newsletter, Publicity, Public Service/Pro Bono and Writing. This year's entries included Reader's Digest, American Express, Los Angeles Times, Glamour Magazine, Lifetime Media, LLC and Wells Fargo.
