Stillpoint, New Logo, Viewbook, and Design Honored at The 22nd Annual Admissions Advertising Awards

WENHAM, MA - Gordon College received top honors at the 22nd Annual Admissions Advertising Awards, once again recognizing Gordon for outstanding communication pieces and design. Stillpoint magazine received the Gold Award for External Organizational Publication; Gordon's new logo was honored with a Silver Award for Logo Design; and the recently launched "Adventurous Life" student view book as well as Gordon's new advertising campaign each received merit awards. The advertising campaign received two merit awards; one for Outstanding Magazine Ad Series and another for Outstanding Single Entry Magazine Ad.

The Admissions Advertising Awards is the oldest, largest and most prestigious educational advertising awards competition in the country. Over 2,000 entries were received from more than one thousand colleges, universities and secondary schools from all fifty states and several foreign countries.

Judges for the Admissions Advertising Awards consisted of a national panel of healthcare marketers, advertising creative directors, advertising professionals, healthcare consultants, marketing professors and the editorial board of Admissions Marketing Report.

The Admissions Advertising Awards are hosted by the nation's leading marketing publication for higher education, Admissions Marketing Report. The monthly publication is in its 25th year and is read each month by nearly 4,000 admissions marketers around the country and at international colleges and universities.

This is the second esteemed recognition for the new "Adventurous Life" Magazine Series. Gordon received international recognition when the 2006 International Davey Awards, awarded Gordon College with a Silver Award for the ad campaign. The Davey Awards is an international creative award focused exclusively on honoring outstanding creative work from the best small firms worldwide. The 2006 Davey Awards received over 3,500 entries from professional ad agencies, interactive agencies, production firms, in-house creative professionals, design firms, and public relations firms. Competition was judged by the International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA), The Creative Group, ADWEEK magazine, Fortune Small Business magazine and OnRequest Images. Current membership represents a "Who's Who" of acclaimed media, advertising, and marketing firms including: Sotheby's Institute of Art, Yahoo!, Estee Lauder, Wired, Insight Interactive, Passaic Parc, Gershoni, Theory, Polo Ralph Lauren, ADWEEK, BRANDWEEK, Coach, MTV, HBO, the Ellen Degeneres Show, and many others.

The "Adventurous Life" advertising campaign and the new College logo was designed by Tim Sauder, Art Director in the College Design Center and Program Director of Return Design. Stillpoint, the college magazine with a circulation of over 26,000 readers, is edited by Patty Hanlon, with art direction by Tim Sauder and design by Kirsten Keister. The new student viewbook was lead by Silvio Vazquez, Vice President of Enrollment, the creative agency Richard Harrison Bailey, with art direction by Tim Sauder.
