WENHAM, MA-Working collaboratively and with service to the people of Lynn in mind, students and faculty from Painting and Advance Drawing classes at Gordon College designed an installation for the Lynn Community Minority Cultural Centers' (CMCC) two storefront window cases. The installation incorporates a grid of images that express the diverse ethnicities and architectural sites that resonate with the community. The result celebrates the work that the CMCC has done and is doing within the Lynn community, and helps to place the CMCC within the larger history of the Civil Rights Movement.
The installation will feature a series of six hinged panels in each window case with over 90 images, painted in a quilted pattern, on one foot square surfaces attached to the larger hinged panels. Each window installation will be 9'w x 7'd x 10'h.
WHAT: Gordon art students unveil a mural at Lynn Community Minority Cultural Center that reflects the diverse ethnicities and cultural patterns of Lynn community.
WHEN: The unveiling and celebration takes place on Friday, December 15 at 4:30 p.m.

About Lynn Community Minority Cultural Center (CMCC):
The CMCC serves the city of Lynn 's immigrant population of more than 51%. The CMCC is a fixture in Lynn's history and continues to impact the community through after school programs, citizenship classes, computer classes and other activities designed to give those in need greater opportunities. The center houses a gallery, classrooms, meeting spaces, a computer lab, a resource center and multiple community organizations.
