WENHAM, MA- Gordon College is pleased to present "A Christmas Gala," a holiday tradition on the North Shore for over 15 years. This year's program will feature traditional Christmas carols by the Gordon College Choir, Women's Choir, Children's Choir and Wind Ensemble. Other highlights will include traditional scriptural readings by Jud Carlberg, President of Gordon College, and his wife, Jan.

The Gordon College Choir will perform under the direction of Oliver Goodrich. The College Choir is Gordon's premier international touring choral group and one of the premier choral groups on the East Coast. The 60-voice choir regularly tours New England and the east coast performing a variety of standard choral and major choral orchestral literature.

Under the direction of Faith M. Lueth, the Gordon College Women's Choir presents their premiere performance of "O Little Town of Bethlehem," written specifically for the Women's Choir by Melinda Bargreen. The Women's Choir is one of the major ensembles of the Gordon Music Department. This auditioned group of 40-50 singers performs in concerts throughout the school year, most notably at the Christmas Gala and Pops Concert.

The Gordon College Children's Choir will be led by Sandra Doneski, assistant professor of music at Gordon. Doneski has provided children of the NorthShore with excellent musical training for nearly a decade. Children in 1st - 8th grade meet weekly to experience the excitement and beauty of choral art. The Children's Choir is open to all students who have a desire to make music through the singing of choral literature from many genres and styles.

Under the direction of David W, Ross, the Wind Ensemble at Gordon is the largest touring ensemble in the Music Department. It is made up of select, talented musicians from all areas of the student body. This group performs a varied repertoire, from classical to wind band pieces, marches, sacred works and orchestral transcriptions.
