Award Winning Author Daniel Mahoney Speaks at Gordon On Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn’s Moral Vision

WENHAM, MA-Gordon College welcomes Daniel Mahoney, Ph.D., and Professor of Political Science at Assumption College, to speak on Nobel Prize winner Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn's moral vision. The talk is part of the ongoing lecture series Faith Seeking Understanding at Gordon.

Mahoney is an expert on French political philosophy and anti-totalitarian thought, and was the 1999 recipient of the prestigious Prix Raymond Aron, an award given to honor and support work in the tradition of the French political thinker and skeptic of ideological orthodoxy for whom the prize is named. He is the author of Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn: The Ascent From Ideology, the basis for his talk at Gordon, Bertrand de Jouvenel: The Conservative Liberal and The Illusions of Modernity and is co-editor (with Edward E. Ericson, Jr.) of The Solzhenitsyn Reader: Newand Essential Writings, 1947-2005.

Mahoney's essays and reviews have appeared in a wide range of scholarly and public journals including The New Criterion, First Things, The PublicInterest, The National Interest, Perspectives on Political Science, Commentaire, The Wall Street Journal, The Weekly Standard and The European Journal of Political Theory.
