WENHAM, MA—It’s time to gather the kids, get outside and let an outdoor adventure take hold of your family. Developed by outdoor education leaders at Gordon’s La Vida program, Family Adventure Day will take place on Saturday, May 5, on the campus of Gordon College.

Family Adventure Day provides young people and their families with a fun and exciting outdoor adventure learning experience. Team building and problem solving activities are used to demonstrate the power of encouragement, respect and leadership. All activities are designed and organized to bring families together through outdoor challenges inspired by nature.

“The high challenge course helps families develop a sense of trust,” said Rich Obenschain, director of outdoor education. But families can also enjoy more peaceful activities such as canoeing or kayaking throughout the day. "There’s nothing quite like the peaceful backdrop and scenery our ponds offer. It’s a great chance to talk with your kids and enjoy working together as you paddle through the water in a tandem kayak.”

Advanced registration for Family Adventure Day is required. Cost for participation is $35 per person. (Beyond 4 members, additional discounts will be applied at a rate of $15 per person.) Challenges, gear, activities and snacks will be included. Families have the option to bring their own picnic lunch or purchase pizza during the days events.

Adventure Family Day is open to the public. For information or to register, visit the La Vida website.
