DEBRA RIENSTRA
Debra Rienstra, accomplished authored and professor, spoke at Gordon College on Wednesday, November 16.

Our Turn in the Garden: Christian Heritage and the Next Generation
Rienstra is associate professor of English at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she teaches literature, composition, and creative writing. In addition to her scholarly publications in early modern British literature, she is the author of Great with Child: On Becoming a Mother (Tarcher/Putnam, 2002) and So Much More: An Invitation to Christian Spirituality (Jossey-Bass, 2005). Currently, Rienstra is writing a book on language in worship, under the sponsorship of the Calvin Institute for Christian Worship, while serving as the Brehm Center 's 2005-2006 Artist-in-Residence.
JIM WALLIS
Political Author and founder of Sojourner Magazine, Jim Wallis spoke at Gordon College on Wednesday, February 22.

God and Politics
Wallis, author of God's Politics: Why the Right Gets It Wrong and the Left Doesn't Get It, is a Christian leader for social change. He is a speaker, author, activist, and international commentator on ethics and public life. Wallis was a founder of Sojourners - Christians for justice and peace - and serves as the editor of Sojourners magazine, which has a combined readership of more than 100,000 people. His columns appear in the New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, and other major newspapers. He offers regular commentary and analysis for radio and television and teaches a course at Harvard University on "Faith, Politics, and Society."
ROGER WILKINS
Roger Wilkins, Clarence J. Robinson Professor of History and American Culture at George Mason University, spoke at Gordon College on Friday, January 20.

Martin Luther King and Other Lessons from the Last Century
Wilkins served as assistant attorney general during the Johnson administration. He is the author of Jefferson's Pillow; The Founding Fathers and the Dilemma of Black Patriotism (2001), winner of the 2002 NAIBA Book Award for Adult Non-Fiction, and the author of the highly acclaimed autobiography, A Man's Life. He has worked as a journalist for The New York Times, The Washington Post and served as associate editor for The Washington Star-where he shared a Pulitzer Prize in 1972 for Watergate coverage with Woodward, Bernstein and Herblock.
