Men's Hoops Gets First Ever NCAA Bid

WENHAM, MA - As announced today by the NCAA, the Fighting Scots have earned an at-large bid to the Division III Men's Basketball Tournament set to begin on Thursday, March 2. The honor marks the first time in program history that the Scots have made an NCAA Tournament appearance. Said head coach Mike Schauer of the feat: "We are very honored and excited about being selected to be a part of the national tournament. It is an opportunity we have worked all season for and puts an exclamation mark on what is arguably the finest season in Gordon men's basketball history. This is certainly a great step forward for our program."The Scots will travel to host site Worcester Polytechnic Institute to face Utica College--member of the Empire 8 conference in New York--in the first round of tournament play on Friday March 3. Utica has compiled a 21-6 overall record over the 2005-2006 campaign while Gordon stands at 23-4 overall.
