World Class

It's easy enough to say "Gordon is global." But the proof (and the beauty) is in the details.  

This past fall, Kaye Cook (psychology professor) was in China; Brian Glenney (philosophy) was in Scotland; and Gregor Thuswaldner (languages and linguistics) recently appeared on Austrian television. Next week Judith Oleson (sociology) will be presenting at a conference in Melbourne, Australia. In other words, Gordon faculty really are "world class," presenting their research at conferences not just in the U.S. but throughout the world.

Over winter break, 43 current students and advisors participated in foreign and domestic missions and service learning trips. One team went to Haiti to work with Partners in Development; another went to Tijuana, Mexico, to work at La Casa De La Esperanza, an orphanage; and a third went to Northern Ireland under the auspices of 74 Trust, a non-denominational Christian organization.

Recently 83 students departed for semester-long study programs in 31 different cities and countries. In the U.S., they will live and learn in Los Angeles, Washington, D.C. and Boston. International destinations include 14 locations in Europe, five in Central and South America, two in Africa, four in Asia and the Middle East, and one each in New Zealand and Australia.
