WENHAM, MA-The LaVida Adventure Camp at Gordon College is now accepting applications for their award-winning summer adventure camp program. Adventure day camp is for youth ages 11-15. Activities include mountain biking, canoeing, kayaking, indoor rock climbing and ropes course.
For over 36 years Gordon College's LaVida program has provided adventure-based wilderness education. Their goal is to provide a unique Christian-staffed adventure program that uses small-group, experiential learning as a way of cultivating personal discovery, teamwork and character development. Campers are encouraged to practice effective communication skills and learn responsibility, helping kids develop confidence by stepping out of their daily comfort zone. Adventure activities are designed to test initiative, develop perseverance and foster servant leadership.
The adventure camp will take place on the Gordon College campus-several hundred acres on the North Shore filled with ponds, trails and rolling hills including a 40-element ropes course. Preregistration is required-One-week and two-week adventure camps are available.
Unique Christian-focused programs are also offered for kids looking for deeper spiritual emphasis. Age appropriate adventures include both 11-13 and 14-15 year-old programs. La Vida adventure camp does fill quickly, so advance registration is recommended. The cost for attending a one-week camp is $325 and the two-week camp price is a discounted $487.50.

This summer marks the 10th anniversary of the popular adventure camp for kids. In 2005, the La Vida Adventure Camp received the Best Summer Camp Silver Award, north of Boston, by the Reader Choice Awards.
