WENHAM, MA-Voice students from the Gordon College Department of Music will perform Scenes from Operas on Friday, March 17 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, March 18 at 7 p.m. in the Phillips Recital Hall. This eclectic two-evening event is directed by Ron Luchsinger with music direction provided by Michael Monroe. Admission is $11 for adults and $8 for seniors and children under 12.

Performances will include excerpts from: Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro and The Abduction from the Seraglio; Handel's Agrippina; Verdi's Falstaff; Puccini's Gianni Schicchi; Smetana's The Bartered Bride; Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream; and Stravinsky's The Rake's Progress.

The Phillips Recital Hall is one of the most beautiful indoor spaces on campus. A model of optimal acoustic performance and architectural creativity, the Recital Hall continues to astound audiences and performers alike. The hall seats close to 200 people and features a retractable sound curtain for acoustic adjustment, an upper-level mezzanine, audio and video recording equipment, performance lighting, and a Walcher tracker-action organ installed in a second-story loft.
