WENHAM, MA—As the nation pauses to remember the 10th anniversary of the tragedies on September 11, 2001, and the Gordon community reflects on the loss, Monday, September 12, Gordon College's President D. Michael Lindsay issued the following statement:

“Since Gordon College began in 1889 in Boston, members of our community have served and cared for others in the midst of difficult circumstances. The tragic events of September 11, 2001, affected many of our friends and families in Boston, the North Shore and around the world in ways few of us could have imagined. But that September morning also deepened our concern for the common good and our resolve to work together for a more humane, loving and God-honoring society. Yes, our world is vastly different since that day, but our vision remains committed to addressing such issues with clarity and purpose so that our next generation will be men and women who bring peace and hope to a world in need of both.” —D. Michael Lindsay, President, Gordon College
