WENHAM, MA-As its premier musical event of the season the Department of Music at Gordon College will present The Creation, Franz Josef Haydn's most joyous and inspired oratorio, on Sunday, April 30, at 3:00 p.m. in the A. J. Gordon Memorial Chapel. A free pre-concert lecture on the history of Haydn's works including The Creation will also be offered at 2:00 p.m. in the Phillips Recital Hall, given by Gordon musicologist Kirsten Helgeland.

The performance will feature the Gordon Symphony Orchestra, the Gordon College Choir and Symphonic Chorale, and will include soloists Susan Brooks, soprano; Wesley Lawrence, tenor; and Craig Hart, bass.

To purchase tickets visit www.gordon.edu or call 978.867.3400. $16 for adults and $13 for seniors and children under the age of 12. Limited quantities available at the door. Pre-concert lecture is free and open to the public.
