Dr. Jane Andrus Dinner

Saturday, March 29, 2008
Presidents Dining Room
Lane Student Center

With the merger of Barrington and Gordon College in 1985, the Division of Natural Science, Mathematics and Computer Science was particularly excited to welcome to campus Gordon's first marine biologist, Dr. Jane Andrus. For 10 years Dr. Andrus graced our campus with her presence through her exemplary and enthusiastic teaching, her boundless energy, her love of God's creation and her passion for students. Perhaps you have memories of her dashing across campus from class to class, to an important meeting, or just to spend time with a student or colleague over tea (only fresh off the boil!). Always on the go, she was never without her effervescent, charming smile and warm welcome to all she encountered.

You may also fondly recall the gems of God's truth she peppered her conversations with as she shared her love of the living world with us. For all who knew her during her time at Barrington and Gordon, it is unlikely we have been able to walk along a shore, over a mountain pass or through a forest glade without seeing the abundant life around us in an entirely different and enriched way. Please take a moment to enjoy pictures from an evening devoted to honoring our beloved Jane!
