Adventure Treks (or Treks for short) is a new camp option for those 14-15-year-old campers who want to continue stepping outside their comfort zone with a group of like-minded and encouraging campers and specially trained trip counselors.
Treks begins with a day of preparation, team bonding, and high ropes. After arriving to camp on the 2nd day, campers and their counselors will confirm gear and other readiness and head into the White Mountains of New Hampshire! Once arriving, campers will hike to a nearby ‘pristine’ camping site and setup camp. Over the course of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (weather permitting), campers will have the opportunity to see a waterfall and view the White Mountains from the top of a mountain (a ‘peak’ experience).
In addition to hiking and incredible views, campers will learn camping basics, including building safe campfires, tent and equipment setup, gear care, and other wilderness protocols. They’ll get to know each other in backcountry settings without the distractions of technology.
On Thursday, campers will make it back to camp in time for 4pm pickup. And on Friday, they’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a final action-packed day at camp, wrapping up with our classic Celebration (where friends and family are always invited).
Did you know that every staff member at La Vida Adventure Camp has first aid and CPR training? Our trip counselors are just a few of our enthusiastic and caring staff who are additionally trained in wilderness, safety and other camping skills.
As an extended camping experience, the cost of Treks is an additional $100 to cover staff wages, gear, and the food provided on the New Hampshire trip. The total cost for Treks is $500 per session.
