Q&A with Lindsey:

Where did you grow up and who are members of your family?
Richmond, Indiana (but spent 3½ years in Angermund, Germany). My family’s an eclectic mix of Bostonians and Southerners.

Where’d you go to high school and what was your favorite toy as a kid?
Richmond High School—go Red Devils! And Legos—all the way.

Most unique place you’ve traveled?
It’s a tossup between two islands: Isle Royale, Michigan, USA and Sardinia, Italy.

What’s on your iPod right now?
Chris Thiele, Donna Hughes, and other bluegrass artists.

Favorite book?
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and Thomas Merton’s A Seven Storey Mountain.

Who do you respect more than anyone else in the world?
Wendell Berry

Favorite sport?
Broomball. Don’t know what it is? It’s the upper Midwest’s favorite gig and the best sport ever.

Everyone at Gordon has a favorite beach. Which do you like best? And where do you buy ice cream after a day at the beach?
My favorite beach is all of Plum Island and the monstrous brownie sundae at Cherry Hill Farm Creamery in Dan-viz is a must-try.

Any advice for transfer students?
Take advantage of the opportunities this welcoming, distinctly Christian community offers—go ahead. Dig in. Set deep roots. You have taken a step in transferring to Gordon—keep pushing yourself to get to know your new roommates and professors. Go ahead and try out the new programming available to you that is designed to challenge and grow you.
