Where are you from and how’d you get to Gordon? I was born in California but spent most of my growing-up years in North Andover, just 30 minutes from Gordon! My youth leader in middle school and high school was a Gordon student. We became great friends and I spent a lot of time on Gordon’s campus during those years. Now I’m back in the area and still spending lots of time at Gordon.
Where did you go to college and what did you study? I went to Messiah College in Pennsylvania and studied English (with a writing concentration) and studio art. I also studied abroad in Spain so there is a little bit of Spanish in the mix as well.
Who’s in your family and what was your favorite toy as a kid? I am the oldest of four—I have a younger brother, Ryan, and two younger sisters, Megan and Lauren. My plastic kitchen was definitely my most favorite toy. I loved pretending to make meals for everyone in my family, serving them plate after plate of yummy plastic hamburgers, pancakes, watermelon, and potato chips.
Most unique place you’ve been in the world? While studying abroad in college, my friends and I took a trip to Basel, Switzerland. Basel is right at the point where Switzerland, Germany and France meet so we laid down at the intersection and were in three countries at once!
Since we’re so close to the ocean, everyone at Gordon has a favorite beach. What’s yours? Singing Beach! I love the way the sand sings when you walk, and I love that Captain Dusty’s ice cream is just down the road. Getting a cone after a day at the beach is a perfect combination! And I’m a fan of anything chocolate. Coffee is fantastic, too.
Favorite thing to do on campus? Run through the Gordon Woods after work—there are miles and miles of trails for biking, walking, running, and even a few ponds to jump in if you get hot.
