Resources for Group Leaders

Reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis. 

*Please Note: the term "patrol" refers to a group comprised of various individuals. Patrols consist of 6-10 individuals and 2 La Vida leaders, or Sherpas. The term "patrol" and "group" can be used interchangeably.

Individual Reservations: To reserve a space on the open-participant patrol (if available), send in the registration form and a nonrefundable $250 deposit by April 1. The balance is due two weeks prior to the start of the course.

Group Reservations: To reserve dates for a group patrol, send in a nonrefundable $250 registration deposit for each group.
Note: Most patrol dates are filled by March 1.

A second participant confirmation fee of $100 per participant ($600 minimum) must reach the La Vida Office by April 1 to confirm your dates and qualify you for a 5% discount. *Groups that do not confirm their patrol with the confirmation fee by April 1 will risk the possibility of forfeiting their dates.

The minimum payment is for six participants. Group patrols that fall below six participants may call the La Vida Director for assistance in filling extra spaces. However, the group is responsible for the minimum payment if others cannot be placed in the patrol.

Group Size: A group leader may register for one or more patrols of
six to ten participant per patrol. Each group will travel with two La
Vida Sherpas.


Group Discounts: A 5% discount is awarded to a group reserving
a date before April 1 by paying the $250 registration deposit and a $100/participant confirmation fee (paid by each participant). An additional 5% discount is awarded to a group which has 12 or more participants.


  • $250 nonrefundable deposit at the time of registration
  • $100/participant confirmation fee (paid by each participant, $600 minimum) on or before April 1
  • Balance due at the La Vida Office (two weeks prior to your patrol)
  • If balance due is not paid within two weeks of trip date, no discounts apply

Cancellations: Cancellations may be made before April 1 with no penalty except the $250 registration deposit. For groups that cancel after April 1, the $100/participant confirmation fee will be returned based on a graduated fee schedule (included in registration packet send after receiving registration deposit).

Refunds: Due to program costs that are incurred in staffing and preparation for groups, the following refund policy has been established.

  • $250 registration deposit is nonrefundable
  • $100/participant confirmation fee is returned if cancellation occurs prior to April 1 or based on a graduated fee schedule following April 1

Financial Aid: Due to the help of alumni and supporters who believe in the La Vida ministry, a scholarship fund has been established. These funds are primarily used for urban youth, but La Vida has never turned anyone away for financial reasons. Please write us for more details on how to apply for these funds.


  • Cancellations before April1: $100/participant fee refunded.
  • Cancellations between April1 and April 30: half of $100/participant fee refunded.
  • Cancellations after May 1: no refunds made.
  • $250 group registration deposit is nonrefundable.
