The Youth Ministries and Missions program is committed to developing a genuine passion for knowing Christ and making Him known worldwide. You will learn the timeless foundational principles of youth ministry and how to apply those principles to the ever-changing and highly diverse youth cultures around the world.
MISSION
Research has shown that the majority of Christians make their initial commitment to Christ in the teenage years. This makes youth ministry vital to the building of God's Kingdom. Because these are critical and turbulent years for young people, the program is committed to analyzing youth in their cultural context, understanding them and relating the gospel to them based on this understanding. It is the task of the program to stand up for truth in a culture of relativism.
DEVELOPING YOUR MINISTRY
At Gordon, youth ministries is taught through a combination of practice and theory, allowing you to construct your own philosophy of ministry. From the time you begin your studies, you are involved in learning principles of youth ministry and then applying those principles in real-life situations. All students are involved in ministry opportunities through student outreach services on campus, Young Life or local churches. Whatever your talent, you will choose a ministry and apply what you learn in class that very week-a process that helps develop your own style of ministry.

THE GLOBAL EXPERIENCE
Time to pack your bags and books…You can choose among many semester, year, short-term or summer abroad programs around the globe through the Global Education Office (GEO).
