WENHAM, MA. -- Freshman goalkeeper Ryan Coil (Brentwood, TN) was named Defensive Player of the Week by The Commonwealth Coast Conference after consecutive shutouts helped Gordon secure a trip to the conference semifinals.
Coil posted 2 shutouts over Salve Regina in one week, one in a driving rainstorm to clinch a postseason bid, the second in the TCCC quarterfinals.
Coil followed that up with 110 scoreless minutes and 14 saves against Western New England College, although Gordon lost 3-2 in penalty kicks.
Coil finishes the season with a record of 7-2-1 and a goals against average of just 0.48.
