What
a night! Brown paper bags exploded like canons while eight hands did
battle with black and white keys on two grand pianos. It was
Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture (in denim).
The A. J. Chapel filled on Homecoming night, Oct. 10 with alums, students and families, faculty, staff and neighbors ready for a date night at 255 GRAPEVINE. Canned goods filled a make-shift pantry in the Chapel’s vestibule as the 'price' of admission . . . . a reminder that we care about our neighbors in need. From country music with Steve Hunt, Norm Jones and Oliver Goodrich and our own version of Stomp to West Side Story's parody, "North Shore Story" and Mark Stevick's break-neck speed commercials (want a "Sacra-mint"?), 255 GRAPEVINE was a night I'm not going to forget any time soon. It was a whole lot of fun but it was also a beautiful reminder of what Jud and I love so much about this college community: talent galore, sacrificial work, wonderful spirits and just plain old good friends.
